SpillyTray: Our Story

 SpillyTray was created by a mom for parents after she cried too many times over "spilled milk."

When my oldest moved from his highchair to the table, I quickly realized the traditional flat, soft plastic placemats were not going to work for him. We would be sitting at table for dinner and I would see my son accidently spill his drink...it would move across the table, off the table edge, onto his chair, and then onto the floor. I would sometimes get frustrated and would have to reassure myself that he was still developing his fine motor skills and to not get upset. At this same time, he was becoming more "independent" and wanting to do crafts by himself. He would play with toys at the table and I would hear "Mom, can you pick this up" several times a day. I started using other items around the house to try and contain his spills, messes, and toys but nothing worked the way that I wanted. SpillyTray was invented to help parents to contain the messes of childhood during meal time, craft time, and playtime.
